Pandariotsquad wonders the future of dickheads like Alex who refer to themselves in the third person ... like adobe has **** all to do with the film making community and even if they did, its not going to stop people pirating.. thats like saying its wrong to steal from McDonalds because they support charities ....

Thanks Alex, I agree with you, but I dont think its very likely that anyone will pirate any of my work, and if they do, to be honest it increases the number of people who will see it.
Im not sure what a Maven is, but I doubt I am one, or ever will be. I have no delusions of grandeur.
Im not in a position to be self-righteous and pay 500-700 quid, since Im paying for my MAC which cost 1000 quid, which I bought to 'support' the underdog, although it seems fine for editing video (at the moment - though I-Movie is shite), it crashes more often than my cheaper PC at work.

What version of OSX are you running. I've found iMovie to be super stable when under 10.1.4 and 10.1.5. Plus I think we should be seeing iMovie 3 soon with the impending release of Jaguar, or here abouts. Don't quote me on that, I've just got my ear to the ground.

Personally I don't believe in you ripping off software, cos there are other out there that do at least try. Get a 2nd hand copy - maybe FCP1/2 and upgrade it, that should be cheap enough. Try and blag an educational discount, as in many ways, it is an educational copy cos you're starting out.

Anyway, iMovie is up to the job when you get it running stable. It's simple and effective, what more do you need?

PS - It depends on which angle you look at it regarding Mac being the under dog. I use all systems, and I know which machine gets used for editing, it's a shame so many others won't open thier mind to something alternative.

the differance between i-movie and FC is equal to that between MS paint and photoshop. Anyway wont it take about 4 years to download? Its Huge! Also think about all the spyware thats bundled in those p2p systems.
